The Fourth of July is just around the corner! If you’re looking for last-minute plans, we’ve got you covered. Here are a few recommendations on how to maximize your weekend:

Looking to stay local? Check out our Statesboro favorites that can help you beat the heat:

To soak up the sun on this long weekend, head over to Splash in the Boro. You can spend the day relaxing in the lazy river, racing down the mat racer and trio slides, or try your luck at the flow rider. It’s even a great place for the younger crowd with tot slides and pool play attractions.

Another great way to beat the heat is by going to Boro Sno for all of your snow cone needs. Try their fan favorites like the GATA (which comes with pineapple, coconut, blue raspberry, and sour straws) or their different margarita-themed Italian Ice options for the adults to enjoy!

Do not miss out on the firework show, Firecracker Fest at Mill Creek Regional Park on July 3! Enjoy the night with a variety of activities, food vendors, live music, and an amazing fireworks show to end the night. In addition, there will be multiple opportunities for the kids to enter in on the fun with various competitions and prizes.

If you’re looking for a little more celebration options and do not mind the drive, here are a few celebrations happening in the Savannah area:

The Plant Riverside District is hosting a celebration all weekend long called Savannah Stars and Stripes. Here you can find live performances, amazing food, great activities for the kids, and end the celebration with a firework show.

Another option is the Richmond Hill Independence Day Celebration at JF Gregory Park on July 2. Here you can experience food, inflatables, and of course fireworks.

Looking to enjoy a destination feel right down the road? Head on over to the pier on Tybee Island to see their own Independence Day Fireworks on July 4. This is historically one of Tybee Island’s busiest days of the year. So arrive early to grab a good spot!

So, what about our friends looking for an adult-only experience? Check out the Red, White, and Brews, a bar crawl throughout downtown Savannah on July 2! The rules are simple: Sign up for the bar crawl, start the night off at your first bar, visit all of the participating bars and have the bartender mark your scorecard, meet new people, and have a great time! Once you have checked off all the bars, head over to the after-party to collect your prize.

Are you a history buff? There is excitement happening for you too! There will be a Civil War-themed Independence Day Celebration held in Fort McAllister State Park on July 2. Here, you will be transported back in time with history demonstrations and live musket firings.

We understand that the fun does not end here! Have something else in mind? Drop it in the comments below!
